Welcome to Rutherford High School!
I'm Dr. Todd Mitchell, proud principal of Rutherford High School, the historic home of the Rams. Since 2009, I've had the privilege of serving this incredible community, and I?m excited to share what makes our school so unique.
At Rutherford, we serve grades 6-12 under one roof, creating lasting relationships and smooth transitions from middle to high school. We are proud to support our military families from Tyndall Air Force Base and the Naval Surface Warfare Center. As a Purple Star School, we understand the needs of mobile families and are committed to providing consistency, care, and academic excellence.
Our students have access to diverse pathways: Career & Technical Education, Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Honors courses. Rutherford is also home to Bay County's only International Baccalaureate (IB) Program; an internationally recognized model that prepares students for success in college, career, and life, while easing transitions for military-connected families. From Digital Design to Culinary Arts, Agriscience to AFJROTC, and from athletics to theatre, band, and service clubs, students can find their place, pursue their passions, and build lifelong connections.
If you're looking for a school that values relationships, challenges students academically, and prepares them for a bright future, Rutherford should be the next place you call home. Call us at 850-767-4500 to schedule a tour and see what it's like to be a part of the RAM family.
And as Always,
Go Rams!
R. Todd Mitchell, Principal
